We are excited to share that La Mano del Mono has been recognized among the 140 impact companies in Mexico, thanks to Impact Hub Mexico City and Citibanamex. This achievement places us among the 30 organizations highlighted for implementing best practices in our business model, a confirmation of the commitment that has driven us for more than 15 years: to transform tourism into a regenerative force for natural areas and a source of well-being for local communities.
This recognition celebrates the joint effort and purpose we share with other impact organizations in Mexico. At La Mano del Mono, we have built a path that seeks not only to integrate tourism into nature in a conscious way, but also to actively contribute to environmental and social regeneration through strong partnerships and innovative practices.
Entrepreneurship with impact: the role of social enterprises in Mexico
Entrepreneurs with innovative and socially conscious business models are essential to generate positive change in our society. Recognizing these 140 ventures reinforces the role of social enterprises as transformative agents, capable of tackling complex problems such as the climate crisis, inequality and lack of opportunities. For this process, Impact Hub CDMX and Citibanamex selected initiatives that, in addition to being financially sustainable, have a positive impact on their communities.
During the awards event, Mario Romero, director of Impact Hub CDMX, highlighted that the innovation and sustainability of these companies allows them to work tirelessly in building a hopeful future, despite the challenges we face as a society. Vanessa González, director of Fomento Social Citibanamex, underlined the pride they feel in recognizing companies that, like La Mano del Mono, seek the integral wellbeing of society.
A rigorous selection process
Being part of this select group was a process that began with the call for 433 companies, of which 140 were finally recognized. These companies generate more than 4,000 jobs and directly benefit 52,000 people, in addition to positively impacting more than one million through their actions and projects. The selection criteria included being a company founded in Mexico, having a positive impact on the environment or society, having been in operation for at least six months, and having measurable results with growth potential.
At La Mano del Mono, we are proud to be one of these organizations and we are deeply grateful to our team, partners and communities for joining us on this journey. The potential of social impact enterprises is enormous, and although in Mexico we do not yet have a specific law to support them, we continue to work to strengthen our model and expand our reach.
This recognition is a reflection of the effort and dedication we have invested in making tourism a tool for regeneration and a means to improve the quality of life of the communities we work with. Thank you to everyone who makes it possible for La Mano del Mono to continue growing and contributing to social and environmental well-being.
