Do you manage a natural area in Mexico and want to enhance its management, conservation and climate action? This is your chance. The National Call "Reserve to Conserve 2.0". offers you the possibility to transform the way you manage your natural area, improving the visitor experience and ensuring the care of natural resources.
This initiative, in collaboration with important allies of environmental conservation in Mexico, such as BIOFIN, Alumbra Innovations, Builders, Ashoka, New Ventures and La Mano del Mono, aims to select two natural areas -one terrestrial and one coastal-marine- to implement a digital reservation system to manage tourism more efficiently and maximize revenues for conservation.
Which natural areas can participate?
This call is open to public and community managers of natural areas, including:
Public ManagersFederal, state and municipal natural areas.
Community ManagersCommunity areas, ADVCs, and tourism committees operating in natural areas.
Private SectorTour operators, business associations and tour operators.
ConsortiumsStrategic alliances between the public, social and/or community sectors that manage tourism in natural areas.
What do we look for in participants?
Minimum affluenceAreas with at least 12,000 annual visitors or revenues of $2 million pesos in 2023.
Operating capacityAccess management and appropriate personnel.
CommitmentTeams willing to dedicate 3 hours per week for 3 months to implement the system.
Growth potentialAreas with the capacity to expand their tourist affluence in a sustainable manner.
